Handbuilt Clay
Raku Fired
$275
Each shoe is individually handbuilt from clay using textures and additions to resemble fabric, leather, buttons, buckles, etc. They are the size of an actual woman's shoe. The shoes are raku fired, a Japanese firing process in which the pieces are removed from the kiln while red hot, and placed in a container with a combustible material such as hay, sawdust, or newspaper. The smoke leaves wonderfully interesting effects of crackle patterns and lusters.
